Gennady Golovkin (GGG) and Canelo Alvarez are set to meet in the ring again on the 15th of September, 2018 for a rematch of their fight nearly 12 months ago that ended in controversial fashion. During their first meeting the fight was called a draw by the judges and the decision sparked outrage in the boxing world. The sold out crowd at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas wanted a great fight, and the boxers delivered but the judges had skewed opinions on who the winner was. Judge Dave Moretti scored the fight 115 – 113 in favor of GGG, Don Trella scored the fight at 114 – 114 and in stunning fashion judge Adalaide Byrd score the fight 118 – 110 in favor of Alvarez. On the 15th of September both fighters will have a chance to set the record straight and to finally bring an end to the controversy.
